Exodus: Gods and Kings

Rating: 4/5

Exodus Gods and Kings recites the actions that happened during the rule of the Pharaoh Ramses when Moses, a Hebrew man, is hidden by his sister miriam from the Egyptians upon his birth to save him from getting killed and later found by the Pharaoh's sister who take care of him and the rest is obvious. But one day he is alerted by the Hebrews that he is one of them, and that where it all started. Moses as we all know is the man sent by God himself to liberate his chosen people from the slavery of the Egyptians and get them to Canaan the promise land.
At first i thought "here we go Ridley Scott is going to make this movie batman in disguise and here he is Christian Bale to take center stage in this." But i was wrong. The beginning of the movie does no justice to what follows. One can think that the story deviates from what was written in the Holy Bible, but as the time passes he discovers that it actually return to the right path in a smooth way. I'm sure at that point no one can take his eyes of the screen. It's so captivating and intriguing.
At first i was not excited to know that Christian Bale is the star of a film that revolves around a religious story, but as the movie goes along, i was fascinated by how well he plays the role of Moses and how an amazing actor he really is. I mean we all saw his skills in the Batman movies, i admired him a lot in Prestige alongside Hugh Jackman, he put his heart out in American Psycho and 3:10 to Yuma but i was really stupefied to know how well he can adapt to any sort of movies. And i must say i really liked the effort put in by Joel Edgerton in the Ramses role. It's not an easy role to play, and it is the most important alongside Moses.
Exodus Gods and Kings surpassed my expectations and ticked all the right boxes for me, i can watch it like a hundred times more and not get bored, it that sort of movies that don't come along that often. I advise anybody that wants to do something really useful and exciting for two hours and a half to watch this movie and u'll be sure u'll get entertained for every cent that u pay.
